Relatively quiet weekend in Kamloops Forest District
KAMLOOPS – Despite the heat, there were just three new wildfires reported over the weekend in the Kamloops Fire District. And all three are less than one hectare in size.
The closest new fire to Kamloops is located 1 kilometre up the Melba Creek Forest Service Road, east of Logan Lake. It was spotted Saturday and has been brought under control.
A fire south of Peachland is also under control after igniting over the weekend.
Another fire south of Manning Park was found yesterday. It’s thought the fire is human caused and is about a third of a hectare in size.
