Interior Health using drop-in appointments, mobile clinics to boost vaccination uptake
KAMLOOPS — As the vaccination roll out continues in B.C, Interior Health says an uptick in regional cases last week was not entirely unexpected.
Interim Chief Medical Health Officer Dr. Sue Pollock said as of last week, more than 675,000 doses have been administered within the Interior Health region so far.
However, Dr. Pollock said virus transmission through close contact interactions and workplaces continues, and more vaccinations need to happen to maintain a COVID-19 decrease.
“We do expect we will see some clustering of activity. As we roll out vaccine, we know that there are still about 20 per cent or more of our population that have not been immunized, so we do continue to see some activity.”
