Kamloops man recovering after Valleyview shooting incident Sunday

KAMLOOPS — A Kamloops man was injured in a shooting incident Sunday (June 13) afternoon and RCMP are seeking potential witnesses.

At approximately 5:32 p.m. Sunday, Kamloops RCMP frontline officers responded to a report that a man had been shot and was at a shopping complex in the 2100-block of the East Trans Canada Highway.

RCMP said it was reported that the victim had walked into the parking lot complex and then collapsed on the ground.

Several bystanders provided first aid to the male until first responders were able to arrive on scene. The man was transported to the Royal Inland Hospital for treatment and is believed to be in stable condition.

Investigators believe the shooting took place near the Thompson River, however the investigation is progressing.
