The March 22 event saw ‘closet musician’ Paul Scarnati come out of his studio and wow the crowd with his original tunes depicting his life of voluntary simplicity with his honey and his dogs. He had the crowd laughing, tearing up and totally engaged during his half hour set. You can find hear some of his music on his brand new Facebook page www.facebook.com/PaulScarnatiMusic.

Speakers included:

Anna Echols talking about how she handles her struggle with her love for food and cooking with her ongoing battle to keep her weight under control. She is a passionate food blogger and you can check out www.lunchfor1.com to get some great ideas.

Art Alexander, networker extraordinaire from the Chamber of Commerce, took us on a emotional roller coaster ride that had us laughing at his childhood escapades, admiring his bold mother, asking his future wife on their first date and finally with him in the hospital in her final hours – his message of live and love today was heard loud and clear by all of us.

Suzanne St. Yves is an educator, advocate for the deaf, photographer and adventurer and shared stories that have brought her close to death in countries all over the world. We sure appreciated living in Canada after hearing her talk and I personally love her idea to expect miracles every day.

Calvin Edie, business man, curling coach, proud hubby and dad took us up in the plane with him for his first sky dive. It was so real, some of were pretrified just listening. His gentle guidance of how to handle fear will be helpful for our next scary encounter.

Maureen Scurfield, aka Miss Loneyhearts, bared her soul and shared her personal story of struggle with low self-esteem, especially after becoming an empty nester. Her transformation to a self-proclaimed Goddess and her quest to help other women in the same predicament is inspiring, helpful and important. She suggests doing ‘one offs’ meaning trying many things once rather than committing to one thing long term. It sure has worked for her! To find out more about her Goddess adventures email her at scurf@shaw.ca
