100 Mile House man arrested after allegedly threatening Ministry of Children and Family Development office

100 MILE HOUSE, B.C. — A 38-year-old local man known to 100 Mile House RCMP remains in custody and awaits a bail hearing after he was arrested on Friday (June 4).

At 11:50 a.m., police were told the man allegedly threatened several social workers, and the local Ministry of Children and Family Development office, regarding their handling of family court matters and custody issues in 100 Mile House.

The local office went into lockdown mode and was given secured police presence. The family involved in the alleged threat was also given police over-watch at their residence.

The man was arrested at his home in the Forest Grove area. The family and office were notified of the arrest and will be updated throughout the investigation.

After a search warrant was granted by a judicial justice late on Friday, 100 Mile House RCMP said they and the RCMP North District General Investigative Section out of Williams Lake cleared the man’s home and found a shotgun and ammunition in plain view. A search of the home is ongoing but is expected to be completed Monday evening (June 7).
