Missing Grande Prairie man possibly ran out of gas near Kamloops

KAMLOOPS — Jesse Faulkenham, a 31-year-old man missing from Grande Prairie, Alta., might be traveling to Penticton.

According to his wife Brooke Timewell’s Facebook post, Faulkenham might have drove until he ran out of gas. She said there are no debit or credit card transactions. If he was on his way to Penticton, she said he would have run out of gas near Kamloops.

As of Saturday (June 5) morning, Timewell said he did not make it to Penticton.

“We haven’t had any sightings reported at all,” Timewell told CFJC Today. “There’s nothing confirming that he fully left Grande Prairie, or that he made it to Jasper. The biggest thing is we’re hoping and praying we can find that black SUV somewhere on the side of the road, or in some trails. It isn’t an off-roading vehicle, so it wouldn’t have gone very far into the trails. I’m just praying he pulled over to sleep and we haven’t heard from him yet.”

Timewell said Faulkenham was disoriented while going through work-related stress prior to going missing.

“He kept repeating he wanted to go to the mountains and meditate, so the assumption was he was going to his mom’s in Penticton and relax,” she said. “We’ve had friends circulating there and we haven’t seen him there either.”

The most likely route for Faulkenham would be going from Grande Prairie down to Grande Cashe, and then continuing on through Jasper and Clearwater. Timewell said he then most likely would have gone through Highway 97C – the Okanagan Connector – meaning he’d have to pass through Kamloops and Merritt. She said Faulkenham didn’t have any cash on him prior to leaving.

Alberta RCMP said Faulkenham is described as 5-8 and roughly 190 lbs. He was last seen in Grande Prairie on June 2 driving a 2020 black Ford Edge with an Alberta license plate U-44950.

Timewell said Faulkenham has an outgrown facial beard, hair that nearly sticks straight up when he’s not wearing a hat, and green eyes and thick eyebrows.

“We want him to know we’re not mad at him, we’re just very concerned,” she said. “[His children] love him and we miss him and we just want him home safely.”

Anyone who spots Faulkenham is asked to contact their local RCMP detachment, or Grande Prairie RCMP at 780-830-5700. If Faulkenham is spotted in medical distress, anyone who spots him is encouraged to call 9-1-1.
