Shots fired complaint south of Nanaimo turns out to be paintball gun
NANAIMO — A large police response closed off an area south of Nanaimo to discover a paintball gun was the source of the complaint.
A call of shots fired came in just after 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 2 at a rural property off Cedar Rd., not farm from the regional landfill.
“With ultimate concern for everyone in the area, our officers shut off any access to the public and were eventually able to engage the people on the property,” Cst. Gary O’Brien said.
Officers on scene determined there were no firearms and the call of shots fired was from a paintball gun.
