Body recovered in Okanagan Lake believed to be Kamloops firefighter

WEST KELOWNA, B.C. — Authorities in Kelowna believe they have found the body of a Kamloops firefighter in Okanagan Lake.

Brian Lannon went missing on May 15 during a recreational dive in the lake when he became separated from other divers.

RCMP joined volunteers with Central Okanagan Search and Rescue, as well as Kelowna and Kamloops firefighters in scouring the lake for signs of Lannon, but none were found until Tuesday morning (June 1).

In a release, West Kelowna RCMP say at about 7:00 a.m., a member of the public spotted what appeared to be a body in the water just south of the Bennett Bridge.
