KAMLOOPS — UPDATE: Kamloops RCMP said Highway 1 is now open to westbound traffic.
EARLIER: In Kamloops, Highway 1 is closed at the intersection of Highway 5A.
Kamloops RCMP said police are currently on scene of a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian on Highway 1 below the Hillside Way overpass. The incident transpired at around 7:30 a.m. Saturday (May 22).
The westbound lanes on Highway 1 have been closed, and will be for several hours, and traffic is currently being diverted around the accident scene onto the Hillside Way off ramp.
