Landing gear collapse factored into Kamloops plane crash: TSB

May 20, 2021 | 2:57 PM

KAMLOOPS — The Transportation Safety Board (TSB) of Canada says it appears the collapse of landing gear was at the root of a small plane crash in Kamloops Thursday morning (May 20).

In an email, the TSB says the incident took place at about 9:07 a.m., when a Cessna 150a attempted to land at Kamloops Airport.

During the landing phase, the plane’s landing gear collapsed.

That resulted in the aircraft coming to rest with its left wing touching the surface of the runway. Fuel spilled from the plane, but there was no fire.
