Brush fire ignites on hillside above Ashcroft

ASHCROFT, B.C. — A small wildfire has popped up Tuesday morning (May 18) just outside of Ashcroft.
The B.C. Wildfire Service (BCWS) describes the location as north of the community, on the east side of the Thompson River.
Photos from the scene show the fire billowing smoke from a hillside just above the community.
BCWS says the fire is very small — 0.01 hectares — and the suspected cause is unknown.
