KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP responded to approximately 368 calls for service from midnight Friday, May 7, to 9:00 a.m. on Monday, May 10. Below are some highlights from those calls.

Man arrested in alleged break and enter

Officers attended a business on the 2100-block of the East Trans Canada Highway for a report of a broken door and a figure inside early Saturday morning.

Shortly after attending, police said they located a suspect outside and arrested him.

The man was released with a court date, pending the investigation’s conclusion, after police seized evidence.

Impaired driver stopped on 12th Street

An impaired driver was removed from the roadway near 12th Street early Sunday morning after an officer noted a truck travelling with its lights out.

Roadside breath tests were administered, indicating a blood-alcohol level exceeding .08, resulting in a failure.

The driver received a 90-day driving prohibition and 30-day vehicle impound under the Motor Vehicle Act.

Missing pink bike

Police heard screaming in the area of Fortune Drive and Sydney Avenue early Sunday morning where a man said he was assaulted and robbed of a pink BMX bike.

Police said the man was not interested in pursuing charges, but he wanted the bike back.

Anyone who has the bike or knows where it is, is asked to please contact the Kamloops RCMP at (250) 828-3000 and reference file 2021-14993.
