KAMLOOPS — Kamloops Fire crews had to deal with a trio of landscape fires last night (Thursday) .

One of the fires, reported just before 8:45 Thursday night, was in Riverside Park in the area of UJI Way. Police think the fire was started by someone known to them.

Another fire, about half an hour later, was located on Overlander Beach near Kitchener Crescent. Platoon Captain Darryl Cooper says the blaze got into some shrubs but was also put out quickly.

A third fire in Aberdeen was very small and was put out by nearby residents with a garden hose.
