Modest increase in Kamloops COVID-19 case count last week

KAMLOOPS — Many communities within Interior Health saw waning COVID-19 case count totals last week — but Kamloops was not among them.

The B.C. Centre for Disease Control has released another round of case totals broken down by local health area (LHA).

For the week of April 25 to May 1, the Kamloops area recorded 57 new cases of COVID-19, an increase of 11 from the week prior.

Here are the totals for areas surrounding Kamloops between April 25 and May 1, 2021:

• Cariboo/Chilcotin – 5 (up by 4 from last week)
• North Thompson – 0 (unchanged)
• 100 Mile House – 2 (up by 1)
• South Cariboo – 0 (unchanged)
• Lillooet – 0 (unchanged)
• Merritt – 2 (down by 1)
• Vernon – 25 (down by 11)
• Armstrong-Spallumcheen – 3 (down by 5)
• Enderby – 3 (up by 2)
• Salmon Arm — 9 (down by 11)
• Revelstoke – 6 (down by 1)
• Central Okanagan-Kelowna — 174 (down by 41)
