KAMLOOPS — One of two men who carried out a 2019 drug trade murder in Brocklehurst has received his sentence.

Gordie Braaten pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the shooting death of Jason Glover on Feb. 15, 2019. Glover and a woman were in an apartment near Tranquille Road and Southill Street when they were shot. Glover was killed, but the woman survived with serious injuries.

In B.C. Supreme Court Friday (Apr. 30), Braaten was sentenced to seven years in prison. Accounting for time served, Braaten will serve an additional three-and-three-quarters years behind bars.

Braaten’s co-accused in the shooting is Hugh McIntosh, who was convicted of first degree murder in March.
