COVID-19 case count grows by 853 in B.C.; 43 new cases in Interior Health
VICTORIA — The province of B.C. is reporting 853 new cases of COVID-19 Thursday (Apr. 29), including 43 within Interior Health. (Note: An earlier version of this story included different totals. It has since been updated the B.C. Ministry of Health.)
Overall, B.C. has recorded 128,742 total cases of the virus since the pandemic began, spread out as follows:
- 31,701 — Vancouver Coastal (up by 181)
- 74,197 — Fraser Health (up by 574)
- 4,633 — Island Health (up by 30)
- 10,877 — Interior Health (up by 43)
- 7,141 — Northern Health (up by 25)
- 193 — Reside outside of Canada (unchanged)
There are 7,996 active cases of the virus Thursday, down by 13 from Wednesday. Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry noted 503 people in hospital and 178 in critical care or intensive care with COVID-19 Thursday.
