One in custody as RCMP probe suspicious death in home near Adams Lake

ADAMS LAKE, B.C. — A man has been arrested after the suspicious death of a woman in a home near Adams Lake.

In a news release, RCMP Southeast District spokesman Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey says Chase RCMP members were called to a home in the 8600-block of Holding Road just after 11:30 p.m. Tuesday (Apr. 27).

First responders discovered a woman dead inside the home. She has since been identified as a 60-year-old woman.

Mounties on scene took a man into custody in relation to the death, though Southeast District Major Crime Unit Commander Staff Sgt. Scott Aschenbrenner says investigators have not yet concluded the death was a homicide.

“[A]lthough a full determination surrounding criminality has not yet been made, the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death are being considered suspicious in nature at this time,” said Aschenbrenner in the release.
