VICTORIA — The province is advising residents of the Thompson-Nicola region that this is the week to prepare for high water.
In a bulletin issued Sunday (Apr. 25), the B.C. River Forecast Centre (RFC) has issued a high streamflow advisory for tributaries in the Lower Thompson region, including Guichon Creek, the Deadman River and other small waterways around Savona, Cache Creek, Ashcroft and Logan Lake.
At the same time, a high streamflow advisory remains in place for the Bonaparte River at Cache Creek.
The RFC says no significant amounts of precipitation are expected this week, but temperatures are expected to rise gradually as the week wears on. That should lead to elevated river levels throughout the week, increasing further by week’s end.
