Maple Leafs hoping knee injury to Zach Hyman not ‘too serious’ following collision
VANCOUVER — The sight of Toronto Maple Leafs forward Zach Hyman lying on the ice in pain has his teammates worried about his status.
Hyman left Sunday’s game against the Vancouver Canucks with a knee injury in the second period and did not return. Toronto went on to lose 3-2 in overtime.
Hyman was injured on a knee-on-knee collision with Canucks defenceman Alex Edler.
“It was tough. He’s such a huge player for our team,” said William Nylander. “Hopefully he’ll be fine. It was a pretty dirty hit.
