KAMLOOPS — Eschewing public health directives advising people against non-essential travel during the COVID-19 pandemic, one of Canada’s political party leaders will make a campaign-style swing through the B.C. Interior this week.

Maxime Bernier of the People’s Party of Canada (PPC) will begin his series of appearances Thursday afternoon (Apr. 8) in Penticton. That stop will be followed by appearances Friday in Kelowna, Vernon, Enderby and Salmon Arm.

The tour will finish up at Di Muzio restaurant in downtown Kamloops Friday afternoon.

Formed in 2018, Bernier’s PPC received approximately 1.6 per cent of the popular vote in the 2019 federal election.
