Investigation underway after man stabbed in downtown Kamloops

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP are looking for witnesses after a man was seriously injured in a stabbing incident last night (Mar. 31).

In a release, Sgt. Kelly Butler says officers were called to a report of a stabbing near 6th Avenue and Victoria Street around 6:30 p.m.

One man was taken to Royal Inland Hospital with serious injuries. Butler says at this point in the investigation, the public is not believed to be at risk.

The scene was blocked off while police conducted an investigation and has since been cleared. RCMP are looking for any witnesses to this assault to come forward and ask anyone with information to call the local detachment at 250-828-3000.
