Mar 17, 2021 | 4:28 AM

HOPE, B.C — Drivers taking the Coquihalla this afternoon (Wednesday) can expect delays with avalanche control work planned. Drive BC says the work will take place along a 9km stretch of Highway 5 north of Hope. This will close both directions between 4:30 and 5:00 PM today. Previously, the closure had been planned for 1:30 p.m to 2:00 p.m.

There will also be avalanche control work done if you’re heading east on the Trans Canada. Drive B.C. says they will be closing the highway east of Revelstoke from noon until 2:00 PM this afternoon. There will be no detour.

Don’t forget the travel advisory out for highway 97 between Barnhartvale Road and Monte Lake. Watch for rocks on the road in that area.
