KAMLOOPS — Another Kamloops city councillor has tested positive for COVID-19.

In a Facebook post, councillor Mike O’Reilly says he received a positive diagnosis over the weekend, and is currently in self-isolation at home.

Last week, councillor Denis Walsh announced he had tested positive for the virus, but O’Reilly tells CFJC in a text message his case is not linked to Walsh. O’Reilly says since the pandemic was declared he and his family have been strictly following public health guidelines.

“Needless to say I was a little bit shocked when I got my first COVID test over the weekend and it came back positive,” he writes in the post. “Luckily we have kept our bubble small and the contact tracing team will have very few people to follow up with.”
