KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops-Thompson School District’s Board of Education has chosen the architecture firm that will design the new Parkcrest Elementary School.

Station One Architects, formerly known as CHP Architects, based in Chilliwack, will be tasked with envisioning the $34.84 million project. The same firm was chosen to design the expansion at Valleyview Secondary School, currently under construction. Station One also designed the now-shelved Kamloops Centre for the Arts project.

The company was one of eight that responded to the school district’s request for proposals (RFP).

Education Minister Jennifer Whiteside gave the okay to the Parkcrest replacement project on January 25. Construction is expected to begin next summer, with projected opening in the spring of 2024.
