Man arrested for trying to enter vehicle in Kamloops traffic

KAMLOOPS — A man was arrested in Kamloops after allegedly trying to get into a vehicle while it was stopped in traffic.

Kamloops RCMP were alerted to an unknown man attempting to get into the vehicle on Columbia Street and Third Avenue on Saturday (Feb. 20) afternoon. The man allegedly attempted to open the rear passenger door and told the occupants to give him their stuff.

After being arrested by an off-duty officer and investigated by police, the man claimed he had mistaken the vehicle for another one and thought he had been waved over.

The man was released following the investigation’s conclusion.
