Woman arrested twice, false alarm abduction for Kamloops RCMP over weekend

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP responded to approximately 304 calls for service over the weekend, including a possible abduction, a woman who was arrested twice, and numerous arrests on warrants.

A woman was located safe by police Sunday (Feb. 21) evening after a report of a possible abduction earlier in the week.

RCMP received a report of a woman screaming and being thrown into a white truck near Tranquille Road and Mackenzie Avenue on Feb. 18, although she was located after her peers confirmed they saw her since the first call.

The woman was located early on Feb. 21 where she confirmed she was the person involved in the report, but that someone attempted to steal from her, not abduct.

A Kamloops woman was arrested for mischief, then later for assault.

Officer attended a residence on Sicamore Drive late on Feb. 19, with reports of a woman screaming and throwing things. She was arrested to sober up safely.

However, on Feb. 21, police were called to the 300 block of Columbia Street where a security guard was allegedly punched multiple times by a woman, who then drove away in a vehicle.

The investigation is ongoing.

A vehicle with a missing a license plate led police to a wanted man near midnight on Saturday.

Officers discovered a car with no rear license plate during patrols. They initiated a traffic stop and discovered the driver was wanted on numerous warrants.

Scott Stewart, 36, of Kamloops was arrested and held for court, during which he received a release order and court date for later this week.
