Kamloops COVID-19 case count showed a marked drop last week

KAMLOOPS — The B.C. Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) says the COVID-19 case count in the Kamloops area decreased significantly last week.

The most recent case map broken down by Local Health Area (LHA) was posted Wednesday afternoon (Feb. 17). It shows case totals for the week of Feb. 7 to 13.

In the Kamloops region, there were 116 cases recorded during the week. That’s down from 161 the previous week.

Per capita, spread remains concerningly high in the Merritt area, with 26 cases last week.

Below are the new case totals for communities surrounding Kamloops:

  • Cariboo/Chilcotin – 8 (down by 20 from last week)
  • North Thompson – 0 (unchanged)
  • 100 Mile House – 2 (down by 1)
  • South Cariboo – 3 (up by 3)
  • Lillooet – 0 (unchanged)
  • Merritt – 26 (down by 4)
  • Vernon – 11 (down by 7)
  • Armstrong-Spallumcheen – 1 (down by 3)
  • Enderby – 0 (down by 3)
  • Salmon Arm — 14 (down by 12)
  • Revelstoke – 22 (up by 3)
  • Central Okanagan-Kelowna — 69 (down by 7)
