KAMLOOPS — B.C.’s police watchdog is investigating an incident Friday night (Feb. 5) involving Kamloops RCMP.
At about 11:20 p.m., RCMP responded to the area of Pemberton Terrace and Columbia Street West in Lower Sahali. According to an RCMP release, a man had allegedly thrown a rock at a car at that spot, and was reported causing a disturbance by yelling and screaming in the street.
Officers found the man in the 400-block of Pemberton Terrace and tried to arrest him. RCMP say the man resisted arrest and officers used a taser to bring him into custody.
After he was handcuffed, the man went into medical distress. Paramedics took him to hospital in serious condition.
