Tk’emlups Chief says MP McLeod will be missed

KAMLOOPS — The Chief of the Tk’emlups Band says MP Cathy McLeod will be missed. The Kamloops-Thompson-Cariboo MP announced last week she will not run again in the next election.
Kukpi7 Rosanne Casimir said she and council are sad that McLeod will not seek re-election. In an email to CFJC Today, Casimir said McLeod was always willing to meet Chief and Council, and advocate on their behalf.
Casimir said there were issues when the viewpoint of Chief and Council were different than those of the Conservative Party, but said McLeod always listened and showed respect for their position. She said McLeod always wanted to get further clarification and understanding, and there was a strong bond between the MP and the Band.
