RCMP seeking suspects after pair of break-ins at Aberdeen business

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops Mounties are asking for the public’s help in identifying a pair of break and enter suspects.

In a release, Cst. Crystal Evelyn says an Aberdeen business was broken into twice this week and both times, the suspects fled on bikes.

The first break in occurred on February 3 at a retail business in the 1300 block of West Trans Canada Highway. A commercial alarm was activated around 9:45 p.m and attending officers found that a large window had been smashed with a rock.

A man had entered the store and stolen various clothing items before leaving on a white and silver mountain bike.

The same retail store was broken into this morning (February 5) around 1 a.m; again with a rock. This time, Cst. Evelyn says the two suspects entered the store, stole multiple clothing items and left on mountain bikes toward Columbia Street West.

Police dog services searched the area, but no one was located.

“The Kamloops RCMP Detachment is are not only asking the public to help identify the suspects, but also to be careful about what they buy and who they buy it from,” Evelyn states in the release. “Ask yourself where the item came from, why the person is selling it, and remember, if it seems too good to be true, it probably is.”

Evelyn adds that buying stolen merchandise also encourages criminals to continue stealing.

The suspect involved in the Wednesday, February 3 break-in is described as:

• Caucasian male
• wearing a black Nike sweater, grey sweatpants, black and white Nike basketball shoes, black gloves
• wearing a white face mask

The Friday, February 5 suspects are described as men, wearing:

• all black
• a black hoodie with a Nike emblem on the front
• masks and gloves
