ICBC rebates coming next month: Horgan
VICTORIA – ICBC will be delivering one-time rebate cheques averaging $190 this spring. The move was announced today (Feb. 2) by B.C. Premier John Horgan.
The money was made available when the provincial insurer found $600 million in savings due to a substantial reduction in the costs associated with automobile collisions COVID-19 reduced the number of people driving.
“Our work to make life more affordable for British Columbians includes fulfilling our commitment to take earnings at ICBC that are related to the pandemic and give that money back to people,” said Premier John Horgan.
ICBC says rebate cheques will be in the mail by mid-March. The one-time rebate is separate from the Enhanced Care refunds ICBC announced recently. Those refunds will begin to be distributed in May.
