New Afton mine informs community of positive COVID-19 case

KAMLOOPS — New Gold’s New Afton mine west of Kamloops says it has been informed an employee has tested positive for COVID-19.

In a news release, Community Relations Coordinator Samuel Numsen says the mine was informed of the positive case on Monday (Jan. 25).

Numsen says the individual is in isolation and no close contacts have developed symptoms.

The areas where the individual works have been sanitized with a disinfectant fogger system.
