Surveillance photo of Kamloops New Year’s Day bear spray suspect released

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP would like you to take a look at a surveillance photo in an effort to help identify an assault suspect.

The incident happened at about 5:00 p.m. on New Year’s Day at a store in the 1100-block of Columbia Street West. A man suspected of theft sprayed employees with bear spray after they confronted him.

RCMP issued a news release three days later with a suspect description:

• White
• About 5’6″ tall
• Facial tattoo
• Wearing a grey bucket hat, black baggy jeans and a red hoodie

Now, RCMP have a surveillance photo to help identify the suspect.
