Firearms related to two separate Kamloops cases
KAMLOOPS — RCMP have arrested a man reported to be carrying a firearm in the downtown core Monday morning. Turns out, the man also had an unendorsed warrant for theft under $5000 and was taken into custody.
It started around 4:30 AM Monday morning when police got a report of a man with a firearm at an address in the 100 block Victoria Street. They found a man matching the description and seized a firearm nearby.
In another case, after a report Saturday afternoon, police seized a loaded sawed-off shotgun and a replica assault-rifle pellet gun. Saturday afternoon around 1:30 PM, police got a report of a domestic assault and theft, with firearms in the residence. Police arrived and spoke to the lone occupant, who denied any assault and invited police to come in and look for firearms. But during the search, police found the shotgun and pellet gun, which were seized for destruction. Investigation is continuing.
