Cariboo COVID-19 cases climbed last week, while Kamloops saw slight decrease

KAMLOOPS — While several regions in British Columbia are seeing COVID-19 infection spikes, data recorded for the start of January in Kamloops saw a modest decrease.

One of the largest case jumps was seen in the Cariboo/Chilcotin region – which recorded 31 cases between Jan. 3 and 9. That’s a 23 case increase from the last recording period (Dec. 27 to Jan. 2).

According to the latest CDC mapping, there were 62 COVID-19 infections in Kamloops from Jan. 3 to 9. That’s a slight decrease from the 68 cases found in Kamloops between Dec. 27 to Jan. 2
