Province finds 509 new cases of COVID-19; Interior Health surpasses 5,000 total cases
VICTORIA — Interior Health has surpassed the 5,000 mark for COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began.
According to new numbers released by Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry, B.C. saw 509 new cases Friday (Jan. 15), including 86 within Interior Health. That pushes the IH total to 5,056.
Province-wide, there have been 60,117 cases of COVID-19 since the pandemic began, spread out as follows:
- 13,728 — Vancouver Coastal (up by 101)
- 37,258 — Fraser Health (up by 260)
- 1,220 — Island Health (up by 13)
- 5,056 — Interior Health (up by 86)
- 2,745 — Northern Health (up by 49)
- 115 — Reside outside of Canada (unchanged)
