KAMLOOPS — Environment Canada has issued a pair of special weather statements that affect the Kamloops area.

The first calls for strong wind gusts overnight Tuesday (Jan. 12) and into Wednesday morning.

The low pressure system moving east over the Interior into Alberta will bring gusts from 50- to 70-kilometres-per-hour, meaning loose objects could get tossed about and branches could come down from older trees.

Meantime, a concurrent statement warns of wintery conditions along the Coquihalla Highway.
