Man arrested in Kamloops, wanted for crimes in Salmon Arm including attempted murder

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP members arrested a man wanted on an attempted murder charge Monday morning (Jan. 11) in the city’s downtown.

Forty-year-old Terrance Jones is wanted for seven offences stemming from an incident in the Shuswap last summer. He was one of three men accused in a stabbing on Blind Bay August 17.

Jones is wanted for attempted murder, assault with a weapon, aggravated assault, robbery with a firearm, pointing a firearm, possession of a weapon and using a firearm in committing an offence.

In September, Jones turned himself in to Salmon Arm RCMP. The circumstances of him being wanted and at large again are not known.

According to Cst. Crystal Evelyn, members were advised that Jones was on Victoria Street Monday. Just after 10:00 a.m., frontline members and the Police Dog Service tracked him down and he was taken into custody without incident.
