Only days remaining for Murray United Church fundraising challenge

MERRITT, B.C. — The second anniversary of the fire that burned the historic Murray Church to the ground is just days away, and with it comes a fundraising deadline.

Back in December, a generous, anonymous donor offered a challenge to the fundraising team; Raise half the remaining $15,000 and they would match the total.

“January 11 is two years since the arson fire at the Murray Church. So that’s our goal to raise this $15,000 by then,” said Richie Gage.

Richie also provided an update on the construction process, saying the foundation has been laid, and the team hopes to begin building upwards in the days ahead.
