City crews repairing water main break in Dallas area

KAMLOOPS — Several homes in the Dallas area are without water this morning (Dec. 31) as City of Kamloops crews work to repair a water main break.

Utility Services Manager Greg Wightman says the break along Pat Road happened last night (Dec. 30) but due to limited staff availability, the repairs had to be done in the morning.

“Crews are out there working on the repair. We’re just about down to the water main to see what the problem is and determine what needs to be done to repair it, and we hope water will be back on within a couple of hours.”

Wightman says there appears to be little to no damage to nearby homes, and the water was shut off last night to residences in close proximity.

“There’s approximately a dozen homes that are without water and made sure they knew if they needed water we could certainly supply some bottled water just because it was going to be a bit of a longer shut down than what’s typical. But no damage has been reported at this point.”
