Wildlights virtual tour to raise money to help Wildlife Park survive

Dec 31, 2020 | 6:28 AM

KAMLOOPS — If you’re looking for something to occupy your time over the New Year’s holiday, take in the virtual tour of the B.C. Wildlights Display. With health protocols preventing the live version of the display, the Park has put together a virtual tour of the more than 800,000 lights on display.

This event would normally provide enough funding to carry the park through to the spring. The Fawcett Family Wildlife Health Centre and the Burrowing Owl Breeding program are funded entirely by donations. Those costs plus costs of food and caring, will result in a real financial hole for the Park.

Wildlights revenue traditionally accounts for a quarter of a million dollars in funding. Aspect Filmworks has partnered with the Park to produce the virtual event. You can give a minimum $5 donation to see the tour.
