Interior Health issues drug alert for Kamloops area

KAMLOOPS — Interior Health has issued a drug alert today (Dec. 16) for the Kamloops area — warning of a toxic substance sold within the region.

IH says the purple, chunky substance is being sold as heroin and contains Benzodiazepines and Fentanyl.

People who use drugs are urged to check any substances before consumption, to avoid using alone, use the Lifeguard App and to have a Naloxone kit readily available.

The alert is in effect from December 16 until December 23.
