Kamloops band sets out to support Salvation Army through music

KAMLOOPS — A local band is raising money for the Salvation Army’s Kettle campaign by launching a 24-day music advent calendar.

The two band members of LooPS, Kevin Roy and Jon Fennell saw the challenges faced by the annual Christmas campaign during the pandemic and have taken it upon themselves to raise money through social media.

Starting Dec. 1, LooPS has been releasing one song a day, whether it’s an original song, a cover or a Christmas song. The band is asking people to make a minimum $5 donation in exchange for a chance to win prizes.

LooPS recently raised $1,414 for the Kamloops Legion through three live-streamed concerts.
