SURVEILLANCE VIDEO: RCMP hope Kamloops residents can identify stabbing suspect

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP have released video of a suspect after a stabbing at a downtown motel Wednesday (Dec. 2).

In a news release, Sgt. Darren Michels says the incident happened at about 5:15 p.m. Wednesday at a motel in the 500-block of Columbia Street.

Michels says the victim was stabbed multiple times and is being treated in hospital. It’s not known whether his injuries are life-threatening.

The victim is known to police with ties to the local drug trade and investigators believe the incident was targeted.

Michels says RCMP are releasing video of the suspect in hopes he can be identified quickly.

The video shows the man leaving a hotel room with what appears to be a knife in his right hand.
