COVID-19 found in Westsyde Secondary community

KAMLOOPS — Westsyde Secondary School is taking extra precautions after a member of the school community tested positive for COVID-19.

A letter sent out yesterday (Dec 1) by the school to families of students says the person is self-isolating at home with the help of local public health teams.

Interior Health is undertaking contact tracing to determine if members of the school community were in contact with the person who tested positive. The school says the health authority will determine who might be in danger of becoming infected.

In the letter, Principal Chris Preymak says the health authority will contact anyone who might be potentially infected. If you don’t get a call from Interior Health, it has been determined your child is not at risk.
