Pickup drivers survive Shuswap head-on crash

SALMON ARM, B.C. — A head-on crash in the Shuswap closed the Trans Canada Highway for much of the overnight period.
According to a release from Salmon Arm RCMP, the crash took place at about 11:50 p.m. Sunday (Nov. 29), approximately 10 kilometres east of Salmon Arm.
Two pickup trucks collided head-on at that spot. Investigators say the impact was primarily isolated to each vehicle’s driver’s side.
Both drivers were conscious when paramedics arrived but both had to be extricated. Both drivers were taken to hospital with injuries that were believed to be non-life threatening.
