Operation Red Nose Kamloops shifts gears for 2020
KAMLOOPS — Due to COVID-19, Operation Red Nose Kamloops has cancelled the driving component of its annual fundraiser campaign. However, the organization still plans to spread awareness of the dangers of impaired driving.
Pacific Sport Executive Director Carolynn Boomer says despite not driving this year, Operation Red Nose Kamloops chose to continue operating as an awareness campaign. She has some suggestions for folks who still want to enjoy the holiday season and ensure everyone gets home safely.
“Our message is being a good Operation Red Nose Ambassador as citizens of Kamloops, wherever and whatever that may look like this holiday season,” Boomer says. “Is it offering non-alcoholic drinks with your Christmas dinner? Is it offering people to stay over, or is it just staying home? That’s really what we’re promoting this year for Operation Red Nose.”
