KAMLOOPS — With guidance from the provincial health officer to avoid all non-essential travel, Tourism Kamloops is shaking up its marketing strategy.

Tourism Kamloops is once again encouraging people to stay local, supporting Kamloops businesses and exploring the area.

Residents are encouraged to visit their local ski hills at Sun Peaks and Harper Mountain once it opens.

While people shouldn’t be going away on vacation right now, Monica Dickinson with Tourism Kamloops says there are ways to support the hospitality industry.

“Even for the likes of our hotel partners if you have the appetite to have a stay-cation with your family, that’s such a great option and a way to escape the mundane of the four walls of your house and get out and support those businesses,” Dickinson said. “As well, dining as a household bubble is still something you can do and we still have some great attractions and activities that are happening in the community, especially coming into the holiday season that are perfect for your family bubble.”

In an effort to promote local businesses, Tourism Kamloops is encouraging people to register for the Luv’n the Loops digital passport.

“If you haven’t had a chance to register online at luvntheloops.com, go ahead and take in some incentives and discounts from over 30 partners within the community and support local that way.”
