Power outage leaves hundreds in the dark near Salmon Arm

SALMON ARM, B.C. — UPDATE: BC Hydro says power has been restored.

EARLIER: A power outage hit an area of the Shuswap Thursday morning (Nov. 5).

According to the BC Hydro website, the outage encompasses the communities of Tappen, Sunnybrae and Canoe.

More than 1,500 customers are affected.

BC Hydro says the cause has yet to be determined and there is no word when power might be restored.
