RCMP ERT called to Merritt after gun-pointing incident
MERRITT, B.C. — The RCMP Southeast District Emergency Response Team (ERT) paid an early morning visit to Merritt Sunday (Nov. 1).
According to a news release, the ERT was called after a report of a gun being pointed at a person “during an interaction.” The incident happened at about 5:00 a.m. Sunday at a home on Irvine Avenue.
RCMP say the person left the area safely and called 9-1-1.
Merritt RCMP officers responded and contained the home. Once the ERT arrived, they called out the suspect and two other people, all of whom were taken into custody without further incident.
